Blackboard Collaborate Known Issues:

Linking a 'Films on Demand' Video: To link any video found in the Films on Demand from your Blackboard site, follow these steps:

  1. On the Films on Demand site, find the video you wish to link to from your Blackboard site.
  2. On the video page, scroll down until you see the "Title URL" section.  Under this section, you will see a text field with a website address listed (it should begin with "http://dbprox.vinu.edu/").  You will want to copy this ENTIRE address.
  3. In your Blackboard site, go to the content area were you wish to place the link. Select "Web Link" option from the "Build Content" menu.
  4. Give the link an appropriate title in the "Name" field, and the paste the link that you copied directly from Films on Demand into the "URL" field.  You can optionally add a description as well if you would like.
  5. Make sure sure to check the  "Open in New Window" option under the "Web Links Options" heading, and then click the Submit button.
  6. You should now have a direct link to your video that opens in a new browser tab.
  7. After clicking the link, if users are prompted to log into the "Central Authentication Service", all that they need to do is enter their MyVU login information (not theior Blackboard login information).  Once they enter that information, they will be able to access the linked Films on Demand video.
