Meet VU’s Newest Trustee: Brandon Haight

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Board of Trustees welcomed its newest member this past month. Brandon Haight was appointed a Trustee by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, and he took his oath of office at the Board’s recent retreat.

Haight possesses decades of leadership and experience in the automotive industry. He is the general manager of the East Plant at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana (TMMI) in Princeton, Indiana.

The Elberfeld, Indiana, resident also serves as the plantwide maintenance and reliability lead and is the regional advisor for Toyota’s Manufacturing Digital Transformation initiatives with a specific focus on machine reliability.

According to VU Board of Trustees Chair John Stachura, “We are thrilled to welcome Brandon Haight to the Board of Trustees. We look forward to his leadership and immensely appreciate the wealth of knowledge he brings from a great industry partner. The Board thanks Brandon for his willingness to serve not only for the good of VU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the greater University community but for the good of the state of Indiana.”

His career spans a broad spectrum. Haight has experience in automotive mass production, new product/process design/development, and post-production. He has held various positions, including dealer technician, engineer, project manager, new vehicle development management, and operations senior management.

“I am excited to partner with VU in a capacity that allows industry and education to work together on initiatives that optimize student education and development,” Haight said.

Haight earned his associate degree in Automotive Service Technology from Glendale Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology from Weber State University. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University. Haight and his wife, Alison, have been married for 19 years. The couple has four children; Adison, Abram, Emalyn, and Magnus.

Haight’s term runs through October 2025. He replaces George Ridgway who retired as a trustee last year.
